Before the assessment

Confirm authority to rent and who can approve work.Prepare the building name, unit size, current occupancy and intended rental duration.Check building rules for tenants, access, pets, deliveries and minimum stays.

Room and equipment

Test air-conditioning, plumbing, locks, lights and appliances.List furniture, keys and access cards; record condition with dated photos.Identify repairs, cleaning, linen and missing everyday essentials.

Before marketing

Approve the actual unit photos, rental terms and public description.Agree separate placement, management, cleaning and setup fees.Set repair approvals, access arrangements and reporting responsibilities.
