A practical checklist for comparing apartments, preparing your arrival and recording a clear handover.

Before you search

Write down your dates, maximum rent and total monthly housing budget.Choose your workplace or daily destination as the starting point for the commute.Flag pets, accessibility, work setup and who will sign the agreement.

At the viewing

Verify the exact unit and current photos, including furniture that will stay.Test the station walk and check noise, daylight, air-conditioning and internet arrangements.Ask who handles repairs, building access and urgent problems after move-in.

Before paying or moving

Review the written rent, advance payment, deposit, bills and exit conditions.Confirm the payment recipient and obtain the agreed receipts.Agree key collection, meter readings, inventory and dated condition photos.
